Tempted by the Dark Side

I actually found myself considering applying for an I.T. Manager's job. It would have been a good move. Half the travel distance of my current job and that is only about five miles. Travel time might have been about the same if not longer, as there would have been the Forth Road Bridge to contend with. The money would have been great too, a nice five-grand hike from my current salary.

Then I actually got a copy of the job advert and saw that it was very exclusively Microsoft products. There didn't appear to be anything that suggested exploring now products. One of the things I love about my current job is that I get new things to explore, either out of my own interest or for a specific project. So I didn't bother digging out the ten-year old Resume for a dust-down.

Honest, it had nothing to do with avoiding a managerial position, or the prospect of driving across that bridge every morning again. Or having to go through a job interview. I hate having to sell myself. I suck at it, really, really badly. Not just in job interviews. Of course, the friend who told me about the job, did so because he was applying for it. So it also had nothing to do with not wanting to get in the way of his getting the job given his recent job loss. Honest. I just hate interviews.
