Over the weekend Kemitix.net will be moved to a new server as Rosewired upgrade their hosting service.

Once the migration has been completed I'll be redesigning the site and committing to putting up new content at least weekly. The blog aspect is being wound down. The urge to divulge my life on the net has drained away to nothing over the last year. As could be seen by the longer and longer gaps between posts. It is over three years since I began this blog and I think it is time to put it out to pasture properly.

I've just converted my laptop's keyboard to the Dvorak layout. As you might expect it has slowed my typing speed dramatically. Holly Lisle likened the sensation to the communicative difficulties of stroke sufferers.

Tesco have been doing very good deals on laptops as part of their seasonal 'Back to School' range. I couldn't resist and picked up an Acer Aspire 5601. Naturally it comes preinstalled with Window XP, which I promptly wiped and installed Ubuntu 6.06 LTS.

Everything I essentially wanted from the laptop works. There are few bits and pieces that don't quite have all the driver support in place yet.

I actually found myself considering applying for an I.T. Manager's job. It would have been a good move. Half the travel distance of my current job and that is only about five miles. Travel time might have been about the same if not longer, as there would have been the Forth Road Bridge to contend with. The money would have been great too, a nice five-grand hike from my current salary.

My LoveFilm DVD rental has started up again with 1993's Project S. I'd put it on freeze for a couple of months. I'd just been too busy working on the Cossmass script. Now I just need to finish the last scene and the first draft will be complete. Once that's done, it needs to rest for a few weeks then I can go back and edit it.

I'm over a month behind on listening to my subscribed podcasts. This morning I am loading up July's podcasts. All 4.1Gb of it. I think there were a few problems with some of the feeds, so there have been episodes downloaded that I had already listened to so that should go down a bit.

The Cossmass Audio play writing is coming to the climax of the first set of episodes. That climax takes place in Edinburgh Castle. So, to make sure I can have people coming out of the right doorways for the final showdown, I went through and spent the afternoon in the Castle.

I'm about to close up the bitware site and bring all it's posts into this blog using Aaron Brazell's WordPress-to-WordPress Import Plugin. While I was downloading the Bitware posts I noticed that there were 453 comments awaiting moderation. My eyes galzed over as I paged down and down and down to check that there were's any valid comments in there.

Folding Bitware back into this blog means I can free up some server space as I currently have two Wordpress instatations.

Last week I demonstrated some very slopped shoulders. I was asked if I could look at a friend's wireless network at home. Three PCs. Nothing complicated. Except that I've never even touched anything to do with a wireless network. So my immediate reaction was to pass it to the other nearby techie, Jason. Who I'm sure did, or will do, a great job.

An American Sit-com being published legally on YouTube? From the creators of Scrubs and Family Guy.

Read more about it and watch the first three episode at DeadThingsonSticks.
