I haven't even put out a promo for Estalvin's Legacy and I'm up at 12 subscribers. (Woo! Hoo!). That promo should be going out today, which will give me a chance to test all the plumbing. Specifically my podcast_episode module for Drupal and the Libsyn account. More importantly it will mean I have content on the feed so I can submit to the iTunes directory. I don't expect that I'll be listed there in time for Friday, but it'll mean things are in the works.
It's getting closer. I finished editing the first episode in Estalvin's Legacy a couple of days ago. Four months work just on the recording and editing. I really hope it gets quicker now that I have a bit of a clue about what I'm doing.
The proof version of the show that I'd sent to a couple of the cast members to check for obvious mistakes did indeed have one. It was encoded at 48KHz. It was only when I tried listening to it though a flash player that I realised. Everything had been pitch shifted down and sounded just bad. So that's being recreated just now.
Nashville Coffee Company has said it has pulled its advertising from XM Radio ... because XM suspended Opie and Anthony for 30 days
Other advertisers of XM shows have been following Nashville Coffee's lead.
Personally, I don't find what they said to be amusing. But I don't listen to 'shock-jocks' for a reason.
The only form of Censorship for adults should be Self-Censorship.
There is a new release of Audacity, a piece of software I've been spending an inordinate amount of time working with of late. They have release a new Beta version, 1.3.3, up from my current work-horse 1.3.2.
I've highlighted what I'm most interested in:
Opening/saving formats:
* Import of audio from QuickTime (mov, aac, m4a) files is now supported on OSX
* Metadata may be added to OGG files
* Improved export option selection
* Importing of Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) wave files now tolerated
* Additional export options added to MP3 and FLAC file formats
* Command line exporter now supported on Windows and OSX
Effects:
I hadn't really noticed this effect myself, but I don't see any harm in following this advice.
"Milk stored within a few inches of fluorescent light in translucent containers usually has a detectable oxidized flavor within two to four hours and a distinct off-flavor within 12 hours," said Robert Marshall, University of Missouri food science professor.
